William Melanethelon Pearce was born in 1891 in Seaforth, Ontario. He joined the CEF on 21st September 1914. He was wounded on 23.5.15, slightly wounded 5.10.15. Promoted Captain 29.1.16. Transferred to 3rd Brigade Machine Gun Company. MID 2.1.17 Haig's Dispatches. Again MID 1.6.17. MC- L.G. 06/03/1918. Seconded to the Royal Air Force for Duty as an Observer 1st June 1918.

He died on April 23, 1990, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 98, and was buried in Calgary, Alberta.
