Copy of recommendation gives ship as HMS Byrea and award was mainly for taking soundings in Marseilles harbour prior to the invasion of the south of France, in the presence of mines. Copies of Seedie's roll, long service roll, copy photos of Challenger, ship's crest, service extract, showing that he came from Poole, Dorset and was an errand boy prior to enlistment in 1926 and served on Impregnable, Marlborough, Cleopatra, Canterbury and Hermes.Long Service medal was awarded 1941.
