Medals mounted for wear with original silk ribbons.

20+ pages of research and an original photograph of the recipient in uniform. John Kunhardt (or de Kunhardt) was born on 2nd August 1875, he received his medical education at St Mary's Hospital in London. He received a commission in the Indian Medical Service in 1902 and saw active service with the 58th Native Field Hospital during the Somaliland Campaign 1902-04.

In July 1905 he was promoted Captain and married Nora Sophia Mildred. Tragically, she died suddenly at Jubbulpore on 4th May 1906 aged 30. From 1910 John was a member of the Indian Plague Research Committee, and wrote a number of papers in the Indian Journal of Medical Research.

During WW1 he served with the No. 6 Field Hospital on the North West Frontier.
