The Pasupati Prasad and Second Rifle regiments were the only members of the Nepalese Contingent to be employed for the Third Afghan war, although neither were involved in active service; 970 medals were award to the Pasupati Parasad and 947 medals awarded to the 2nd Rifle regiments.
