Other ranks browning copper cap badge to the 76th Battalion CEF (Babin E.76, Charlton 76-2) maker marked ‘TIPTAFT B’HAM" on the reverse. The 76th Battalion was raised in Barrie and the area surrounding Lake Simcoe and mobilized at Niagara Camp effective August 15th 1915. The battalion sailed for England April 23rd 1916 where it was merged with the 36th Battalion. Being fully depleted of all ranks effective July 17th 1917 the battalion was officially disbanded under General Order 82 of 1918.
