Family range with father's 1911 Coronation Medal to Frederick William Avant - Mayor of St Pancras 1910-11 and his son's WW1 Canadian Memorial Cross to 106068 Pte V. Avant, Killed at Sanctuary Wood in 1916 whilst serving with the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles

106068 Pte. Vivian Bragg Avant was born in Chiswick, London on 4th November 1890 and was Homesteading south of Hughton, Saskatchewan. He attested at Saskatoon on 29th December 1914 was killed in action with 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles on 5th June 1916 at Sanctuary Wood. With no known grave is commemorated on the Menin Gate. His Next of kin was listed as his brother, Wilfred Avant of Woodside Park, London, UK. His father was a licensed furniture dealer on Tottenham Court Road, who died in 1923, at the same address as Vivian's brother.

1911 Coronation Medal engraved on the reverse F.W. Avant J.P. Mayor of St Pancras with gilt and enamel St Pancras ex-mayor's jewel, suspender engraved Mayor Frederick Wm Avant J.P. 1910-1911, smaller St Pancras jewel, reverse engraved Mrs F.M. Avant Mayoress 1901-11, silver gilt and enamel London Mayors Lodge jewel "The First City of the world" and St Pancras pin badge.
