Allan James Flock was born in Binbrook, Ontario, Canada, in June 1893, and was the son of John Flock of Grimsby, Ontario. He was a pre-war member of the 2nd Dragoons and attested at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in the 128th Battalion giving his occupation a sa Farmer. He served during the Great War with the 128th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, and was transferred to the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles in France for service on the Western Front. Private Flock was listed as ‘Missing, presumed killed’ in the attack on Vimy Ridge on 9 April 1917, and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial.
