William Edward Jenkins was the son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Jenkins of 123 Cottenham Road, Upper Holloway, London. He initially served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (entitled to BWM & VM). Jenkins advanced to Corporal, and transferred for service with the 1st Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Corporal Jenkins was killed in action on the Western Front, 1 October 1918, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
