A Military Medal, in silver, full size, rim impressed 514116 Pte. F. Sheldrake 2/CAN. M.G.C., War and Victory impressed same naming but C.M.G. BDE. as typical.

With research showing Frederick was born on 19th January 1884 in Hampshire, England and emigrated to U.S. in 1902 where he worked as a Chauffeur for a wealthy businessman. Served in 6th and 2nd Companies with the Canadian Machine Gun Corps. Returned to his pre-war employment in New York but appears to of later worked as a Steward in the shipping industry and eventually returned to England. Despite claims in a write-up in his papers he does not appear to of taken U.S. Citizenship, he married in 1930 and died on 17th January 1932 at Staines, Middlesex, England
