Alfred William Guster was born 16th Jan. 1873 in Newport, Isle of Wight. He enlisted on 8th Feb 1893, occupation Groom. He received 48 hours Imprisonment on 13th Feb 1900. Emigrated to Canada in 1905, arriving in Quebec, occupation Farmer, settled in Port Hope, Ontario, Attested for WW1 on 22nd Sept 1914, occupation Driver. Served in 32nd C.F.A. but diagnosed with defective vision and transferred to HQ, joining The Canadian Military Police on 3rd Aug 1917 in the rank of Corporal.
