WW1 Memorial Plaque to an Officer in The 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles
It is for Lieutenant Henry Wright Uglowof the 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles (2nd Central Ontario Regt.) of the CEF.
Comes with some minor paperwork. Attestation paper copies and photocopy of 4th Mounted Rifles war diary where it notes the disappearance of Lt. Uglow.
He went missing on June 3rd, 1916 and is presumed killed in action at The Battle of Mount Sorrel. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium. This memorial is for the 55000 plus Commonwealth soldiers who killed and never found and the unknowns from the battles around Ypres.
He was 30 years old when he went missing. He was born April 27, 1886 in Ottawa and had relatives in Kingston, Ontario. Occupation was a Banker.
