William Burton was born 1st August, 1886 at Kingston, Ontario. Occupation was given as "Fireman" (usually railways at this time period), attested 25th Sept, 1914 at Valcartier. Wounded (buried in a dug-out) August 1916 causing him o-going knee problems for which he appears to of had subsequent hospitalizations. Trade grade as a "Wheeler". He spent 1 month in the 6th Field Battery, 12 months 1st Div. Ammunition Park, 11 months Mechanical Transport, 2 years and 4 months in C.O.C. Engineers, 3 months in 8th Reserve Bn. Engineers. He died on 30th August 1964,
