William Bruce Spafford was born of 9th April 1917 to Robert Bruce and Mae Spafford. . He was a member of the University of Toronto COTC from 1935-40 and attested in the Canadian Army on 1st August 1942. He finished his internship whilst serving in the Canadian Army medical Corps and was and M.D. He was Killed in Action on 4th January 1945 age 27 years, whilst serving with the Irish Regiment of Canada in Italy. He is buried at Ravenna War Cemetery. William left behind a widow, Mrs Lorna Kathleen Spafford.
