WW1 Canadian Memorial Cross to 65452 Sgt F.G. Hipkins

Good very fine.

Frederick George Hipkins was killed in action serving with 5th Coy Canadian MGC on 29th April 1917 and is buried in La Targette British Cemetery. With copied CWGC and 6 pages of service record, he was born in Birmingham 1st March 1888, enlisted in 24th Battalion (Victoria Rifles)  16/12/14 at Montreal, Quebec. Occupation was stated to be Jeweller. He landed in France 16/9/15, transferred to 5th MG Coy 24/12/15, originally reported died of wounds, (Gunshot wounds to abdomen and leg) but this was changed to "KIA".
