Samuel Mills was killed in action with 29th Battalion, Canadian Infantry during the Battle of Hill 70 near Lens on 21st August 1917 and with no know grave is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial.

With (7) copied pages of service record and CWGC,

Samuel was born in London on 10th June 1883, he had previously served 8 years in The 3rd Dragoon Guards, he enlisted at Vernon, B.C. 7/8/15, was subseqently posted to the 29th Battalion in France 28/6/16. He was appointed Acting Sergeant. Hiss Medals and Cross were awarded to his widow, Mrs Leticia Mills, resident at Plaistow, England.
