Edward Whittaker was born on 8th March 1891 at Bolton, Lancashire, UK, he was a Cement Worker when he attested on 20th Sept 1914 and received a GSW to his Right Thigh on 25/4/1915 at Hetasse, nr. Ypres, Belgium which resulted in his being discharged medically unfit. He survived until 30 May 1962.
