38th Battalion WW1 Pair to an NCO wounded at Vimy

WW1 Pair to  WOII George Cruickshank 38th BN. 

George Cruickshank was  born in October 1883 at Dingwall, Scotland and was a Floor Finisher by occupation when he attested on 1st March 1915. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge on 14th April 1917 with a GSW to the abdomen. He returned to Canada and was promoted to RSM with a recruiting battalion but for some reason was CM on 4th July 1919 and reduced in rank to Corporal. He lived in Winnipeg after the war and died in 1968, was buried in Elmwood Cemetery.
