Killed in Action with 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion during the Battle of Fresnoy, 3-4th May 1917.
Walter Cluny Stewart Holland was Buried at Écoivres Military Cemetery, Vimy Ridge.
Previously served in South Africa with the Royal Canadian Regiment as #7344 and was awarded a QSA with 3 clasps Paardeburg, Driefontein and Cape Colony. A member of the 77th Canadian Militia. Trained as an Electrical Engineer but took up farming in Canada. His Probate gives his address as Lincolnshire and refers to rank of Captain in the Militia. Birth circa Aug. 1872.
Date of death: 1917-05-04. Son of the Rev. Stewart and Mary Holland, of Bury St. Edmund's, England. Medals are EF, come with a photo of his headstone.
