Other ranks pickled finish voided cap badge to the 80th Battalion CEF (Babin E.80, Charlton 80-4) by Hemsley but not maker marked. The 80th Battalion was raised in Eastern Ontario with mobilization Headquarters at Barriefield effective August 15th 1915. The battalion sailed for England May 16th 1916. In September 1916 the Battalion was absorbed into the 51st Battalion which then served in England as Garrison troops. Being fully depleted of all ranks the 80th Battalion was disbanded effective July 17th 1917 under General Order 82 of 1918.
