The regiment being designated as the 62nd Saint John Fusiliers effective November 5th 1869 but disbanded in 1871. The regiment was reconstituted as the 62nd Saint John Battalion of Infantry in 1872 and in 1882 again became the 62nd Battalion Saint John Fusiliers. In WWI the regiment contributed personnel to the 26th Battalion on its formation and later raised the 115th Battalion. In the 1920 Post war reorganization of the Canadian Militia the regiment was designated as the Saint John Fusiliers.
