This clasp has no rosettes. Instituted on July 16, 1970. For 180 days service (90 days for temporary inductees) in the Mizo Hills against insurgents in the Mizo District of Assam between circa 20 February 1966 and 8 May 1975. The 'Mizo Hills' clasp was the last clasp to be awarded for wear on the GSM 1947, which medal was made obsolete with the introduction of the new General Service Medal 1965 (Samanya Seva Medal 1965). This clasp has uniquely plain ends.
