WW1 Memorial Plaque to 2nd Lieutenant Henry Leonard Hubble, 4th Bn. Lincolnshire Regiment
Henry Leonard Hubble. Second Lieutenant, 4th Bn., Lincolnshire Regiment. Died 15 April 1918 (France). Henry Leonard Hubble was born in 1899 at Nottingham, he was the son of Henry John Hubble a Bank Manager and Mary Elizabeth Hubble née Moss of the Smiths Bank, Main Street, Bulwell. His father Henry John was born 1869 at Nottingham, his mother Mary Elizabeth Moss was born in 1869 also in Nottingham, they were married on 4th June 1896 at St Andrews Church, Nottingham. They had a further child Olga Frances born in 1903 at Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at Smith’s Bank, Main Street, Bulwell, Henry John 41 yrs is a Bank Manager, he is living with his wife Mary Elizabeth 42 yrs and their two children, Harry Leonard 12 yrs a scholar and Olga Frances 8 yrs of age also living with them are 2 female servants. Harry’s residence is listed as The Old Bank House, Brigg, Lincolnshire on CWGC. He enlisted as a Private and earned a WW1 Pair.
